Baguio City
Advancing Baguio’s Wastewater Treatment System
The City Government of Baguio has partnered with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and FujiClean Co. Ltd. to enhance its wastewater treatment system through the introduction of FujiClean’s decentralized “Johkaso” technology. This collaboration, under JICA’s SDGs Business Verification Survey, aims to address the city’s limited sewage coverage and environmental challenges by integrating energy-efficient, cost-effective treatment solutions with existing infrastructure. With support from local and national stakeholders, the initiative seeks to reduce water pollution, promote sustainability, and bolster Baguio’s urban development and tourism potential.
